Pepstar – Kanye West of Grime?

For those that have been following, the UK grime scene has been resurrected and is producing some fantastic music as of late, taking us back to the good old days of Wiley, Kano and Dizzee Rascal.
Firstly, we have to give a shout out to Skepta, who has gone back to his roots and has returned with some very strong material, including ‘Shutdown’ and ‘That’s not me’ which contains a very nostalgic instrumental to go along with it:

Also, smashing his way through the scene is Stormzy. With a MOBO award for best Grime act already under his belt, he is set to make a long lasting mark in the industry. Check out his music video ‘Where do you know me from’:

However, the main reason for this post is to shine a light on Pepstar. Pepstar shows an outstanding ear for creating a banging instrumental, even from everyday sounds like a car engine, tapping a glass with a spoon or even the sound of a microwave beeping, which can be seen in his videos. He writes and delivers sharp lyrics, and has great intuition for creating memorable, intimate videos showcasing his talent. We wish Pepstar the best of luck in the future.
